#untangleme day 6: #chairposevariation I don't even know what to call this, but I'm glad the wall was there. I've begun to realize that while I love forward bends and compression, I do not love being tangled 😆 @cyogalab
Welcome to Day 4 (Wednesday) #TealYogaWarriors . 💚💫💚 . #chairpose#utkatasana . I am learning so much from you guys and your own experiences with food allergies and sensitivities! Thank you!💚 . Today I'll continue my family's story. My son is 13 now, and I am starting to allow him to do a lot more independently. Until middle school he hadn't been on field trips that lasted more than an hour or two without a parent or grandparent as a chaperone. Now that he is a teenager, we feel like he can manage his own epi pen during camps and overnights with friends. It's still a huge leap of trust to let him go, but part of parenting is making sure your children are equipped to deal with life on their own eventually. . Dealing with school and other extracurriculars can be very stressful when your child has a life-threatening food allergy. There was one instance where the school was providing lunch for the kids on a day-long field trip. 🛣 The lunch was peanut butter sandwiches as they did not have access to refrigeration and needed something easy to serve. Even if my son had brought his own lunch, he would have been exposed to a bus full of kids who had just eaten peanuts 😱 Technically children are not supposed to be excluded from field trips because of their allergy but we couldn't work out a solution that felt safe, so we kept him home. Not all schools understand! ⬅ Please see my last slide for some tips that can help not only teachers, but anyone who is coordinating an event or activity for children that have food allergies. . .
