#2nddayhair is a simple refresh with water and AIF emulsified in my hands and smooth/squished/scrunched in for each section. I diffused on low, clipped for volume, fluffed, and #sotc with RR oil.🙌 I was hoping to not have to use any products to refresh today but my great #washday yesterday turned into a flop as the day went on. 🤦On wash day my hair really struggles to have any sort of hold. It is super fine…almost baby fine. I also made the mistake of not using enough hairspray (Pantene Airspray is #cgfriendly )…. Really thought I didn’t need it. #whatdoyoudo ?🤷 Not great wash days results are not the only reason why refreshing is so important to me. 1 I don’t have the time or desire to start from scratch every morning. I have twin girls and it is up to me to get them ready and out the door each morning. I need easy and fast. 2 my hair is damaged from years of bleaching, blow drying, straightening, and curling with irons. While my hair is fine and limp, it is also very dry and doesn’t need a ton of shampooing… I do co wash but that I would rather skip it if I can. 3 I have a strong desire to let my curls be as natural as possible, minimizing the kinds and amounts of products I use.
In the last few posts I’ve mentioned several #curlygirls I follow and recommended; however, one I consistently go to for tips, tricks, and advise is @lorascurlyhair . Besides Lora’s beautiful ringlets, #curlgoals, she is amazing at experimentation and testing things. I get so much helpful and positive content from her page. #microplopping anyone?
That being said, she had a great post a few days ago about extending your wash day. Some of the tips she’s mentioned before I had already implemented. But a new tip that is recent for her is leaving the cast in as long as possible.😱😱 Does this totally freak anyone else out? I would like to think I am not too vain of a person, but for some reason leaving the cast in ALLLL day gives me a anxiety and huge insecurities. It takes me right back to high school memories of walking around in crispy, crunchy, hard curls.😢 Does anyone else get anxiety about wearing the cast in public? Why? Tell me your story!👇
