Been on the grind getting ready for @wodwars but I don't just do it for one event, its a lifestyle now and it's who I am. Eating healthy, training, recovering and repeat, plus staying active. Even if I am traveling I don't let it be my excuse why I can't get in a workout or eat bad. To me the best feeling in the world is to be in the routine of hitting my workouts, making progress and eating right. Consistency is 🔑

After inviting a few different friends to our box lately, I realized there was a common answer as to why they were hesitant to drop in; "I want to be in better shape before I try CrossFit" or "I'll be embarrassed because I can't lift heavy weight" and after further digging, I realized this is a common misconception for people who have never stopped in to TRY it! Most of our athletes didn't start out lifting large numbers, it takes time to build strength and truthfully, here at CFWV we don't push or force heavy lifting upon our athletes unless it's a personal goal of theirs.. I've also heard time and time again, "I remember when I started I couldn't even do 'this'" and now those athletes are doing Rx and Comp WOD's! The point here is that to get from point A to point B you have to first engage yourself. Making excuses only holds you back from your full potential! Sometimes we lose sight of the goals we've set before ourselves. We set them "on the shelf" for a later date because life gets busy or the road to success seems a bit too long. It's during these times of self-doubt that we should remind ourselves that the time is going to pass either way so it's up to us to determine whether we want to spend that time bettering ourselves or save that for a "later date". It's also critical during these times to lean into fellow athletes and seek motivation from one another! There's nothing more motivating than seeing athletes encourage each other to be better.
