I'm sometimes frustrated when, after I explain that I am an artist, people respond with, "Oh! You play all day!" 😑 Haha...um. No. There's a lot to my day to day living. Throwing on the pottery wheel requires a lot of skill and upper body strength. There's also website maintenance (a ton of computer knowledge) , TAXES 😑, networking, emails, emails, emails, packaging (I ❤️ that part!), carving clay, firing the kiln, creating and managing classes, marketinggggggg, planning, goal setting, etc.
BUT! I thoroughly enjoy doing this. What helps is finding people in the world who uplift you and cheer you on when things get hard (or when people tell you to quit because you're not "logical". )
Surround yourself with like minded people. Heck, surround yourself with positive people. (constructive criticism is great, but also CAN be thinly disguised as something...else...😒) Life is hard. And unfair. So do what you love. Be passionate. Things might work out. It might not. But wouldn't it be better to try than to not try at all? #likeseriously #justdoit
