any activity done with intention can be so enjoyable! Today I am gathering apples to make apple cider vinegar.When I first moved here from city, I fell in love with this apple tree, sight of this apple tree made my heart sing all seasons!! When I found out it was not the sweet apples I like to eat, I was so disappointed. Being a city girl, I thought all apple trees bear yummy crunch, eat it off the tree kind of apple! For years I shared them with deers and composted many not knowing what to do. (Pre-hard cider boom)Finally this year I learned simple recipe for using these abundance of apples in to make apple cider vinegar!! Here is recipe for home made apple cider vinegar:
Apples( any kind, you can also just use,peels , cores etc.)
Organic sugar(1T/ 1cup water ratio, yeast needs sugar to feed)
Place them all In a jar, cover with cheese cloth, leave them. strain apples in two weeks & pour liquid back in the Jar. place a proper lid and let it ferment for 2-3 months and enjoy. let me know how yours turn out!
