Pruning is all done. The last row to go shown here - massive thanks to our 3 secateur legends: Regan, Matt and Mark (photo) - and Jess the legend vineyard dog/supervisor. All set for the 2018 vintage and wondering what the season will bring us... #centralotago
#159 Buy - locally made Benjer juice. It all started in Ettrick 24 years ago as a way of using excess apples and took off from there. For the last 17 years Benjer Drinks Co has been based in Cromwell producing these tasty treats and are still locally owned. They use as much local fruit as possible, with some grown just 50m away from the factory. I'm especially fond of the nectarine and the apricot juice, they capture the delicious sweet stone fruit perfectly and make me excited for summer! For the last 2 years they have had a store on the outskirts of Cromwell, where I popped in and purchased a few bottles today. Yum 👌#justinegoeslocal365#eatbuydolocal#sweettreat#juice#fruit@benjerdrinksco#supportlocal#madeinnz#newzealand#centralotago#locallymade#cromwellnz
Nice flight of Pinot at Handpicked last night. Four wines, four regions and four very different terroir. Yarra Valley, Mornington, Tasmania and Central Otago. My fave was the more elegant Mornington which was kinda rare for me as I'm usually into the deeper incarnations. Interesting comparison.
2014 Amisfield Pinot Noir- 91 points The grapes for this wine are grown at the foot of the Pisa Range on glacial schist soils - Drinking beautifully - clean fresh black cherries- silken texture - sweet but not overly so - large at 14% alcohol although deftly handled - thoroughly enjoyable juice
