Praying with a dear friend of mine before the relic of Saint John Paul the Great in DC at his shrine. It has brought me great joy finally reading this book about our dear patron and spiritual father. Learning about his life and his unwavering dedication to truth in the midst of great suffering and persecution has been an inspiration for me. Saint John Paul the Great spoke often on the ability for each of us to be saints - he was confident in each of us (if only we accept the challenge). This was rooted in his deep respect for the dignity of the human person and the gifts each of us have to offer by our lives as men and women.
I'm reminded of his intercession on such timely topics as I look at the radio show from this week.
