Seeing churches that have stood before my time remind me of the faithful who've come before. That our moment in time is just that. I glimpse gatherings & communities of centuries past & realise that what we're part of is already way more than we could ask or imagine.
It reminds me we have the grace & gain of people who've grown before us, & the responsibility & gift of those who'll come after.
If I'm going to leave a legacy, an image of myself, a memory of what I was part of, I want it to be as a person in the crowd of people who stood & praised God with other believers. I don't want to leave behind a life that shouts, cries, or whispers MY name. If I leave behind an imprint I hope it's of His presence through my own on this earth, one that continues to point the ones after me to the goodness of our God who's worthy of every sacrifice, prayer & praise that we give our breath to on this side of eternity. ❤🌾
