So I've been doing a lot of designing lately in preparation on starting building my new cast power hammer. Had some great advice from @natelagler on modifying a few parts in order to make a lighter hitting hammer with still using everything I've already designed. What I did was I lightened up the upper die holder as much as I could, and designed it to run the smaller 2 1/4" dies. Saved a lot of moving mass which will give me a lighter hit. I'll eventually make my hammer a double headed version.
I've also designed up an original style cast base, it's a total dream of mine to have a fully cast hammer. Hard thing is casting patterns for producing a cast base would be expensive. And I'm not sure if there is enough interest out there of guys wanting a cast base, that would pay the higher price it takes to make. But it's already good to have dreams right. Ha
