Here are Players 21-25 on my 2019 NBA Draft Big Board! Since I have already made mini reports on the majority of players in this series during my Top 5 players per position, I will only be making reports on the players I haven’t talked about previously. Re-writing the other reports would just be repetitive.⁣

Kris Wilkes: ⁣
I’m a pretty big fan of Kris Wilkes. He’s a very good athlete, who is great at getting to the rim and can also handle the ball in spurts. He’s very strong fundamentally and has a great work ethic. Right now he doesn’t have a consistent three point shot, but he has a very nice form, and shows the potential to improve greatly in that facet. ⁣

Here are my Top 5 PG prospects for the 2019 NBA Draft! Remember, this is a prospects ranking. I’m not ranking the best PG’s in college.⁣

Darius Garland: ⁣
Garland is my #1 PG in this class due to his ability to facilitate an offense, while also providing craft scoring. However, Garland desperately needs to gain muscle (170 lbs) and isn’t an overly explosive athlete.⁣

Tre Jones: ⁣
Tre Jones is the brother of former Duke Blue Devil Tyus Jones, and they share a very similar skill set. Tre is a great athlete, but really needs work on his 3 point shot. ⁣

Carsen Edwards: ⁣
Carsen Edwards will be a junior this season at Purdue. Edwards is a score first guard who can light up the stat sheet, however he’s only 6 feet tall and is not a natural playmaker. ⁣

Ky Bowman: ⁣
Ky Bowman is a great athlete who can also score at will. His game is much better suited as a SG, but standing at only 6’1, he’s forced into a PG role. He’ll have to get better defensively and improve his playmaking if he wants to be a top prospect. ⁣

Shamorie Ponds: ⁣
Ponds is yet another Junior making my Top 5 PG’s. Shamorie, like the previous PG’s on my list is undersized at 6’1, but is a prolific scorer. His 3 point shot needs work, and he’s not elite athletically, but his scoring gives him potential for the next level. ⁣

Does Carsen Edwards go for 50 in a game this year (hasn't happened since Rick Mount scored 61 on 2/28/70 vs Iowa). I think theirs a good chance he could catch fire and beat his career high 40 points, but since it hasn't happened since the early 70's I wouldn't bank on it.

I know it's way too early for this, but here are my 2019 Draft PG Rankings as of right now. This is actually a very weak class in terms of Point Guards. My Top 2 are freshmen Darius Garland and Ashton Hagans. Both are great passers, and floor generals who understand the game well. Garland's shot is better, so I have to give him the edge. Other freshmen include Tre Jones at 6, and Coby White at 8. I see both guys as more suited for the 2020 draft. Even though both are highly touted recruits, it must be noted that this is a weaker class than last month only three freshmen point guards drafted. I still must include them on this list since they are both very talented. Coby is a guy who can score from anywhere, and Tre plays similar to his brother Tyus. If Tre can match the level of Tyus's production at Duke, he'll be an easy one and done. Coming in at 3, I have Jaylen Hands. Hands is a sophomore from UCLA who could have been a second round pick this year, but decided to return to school. National Player of the Year Candidate Carsen Edwards comes in at 4. He's another guy who could've been a second rounder last month. If Carsen can improve as a playmaker, he could be the safest prospect here. Iowa State guard Lindell Wigginton is 5th. He's a good scorer. Cassius Winston will be the lead guard for one of the best teams in the nation. Look out for a breakout year from him. Meanwhile, at 9 and 10, we have two 20 PPG scorers who don't get much appreciation. ----
Keep in mind that this is a very early look at next year. A lot man change in a year. Remember when Trevon Duval was supposed to be a lottery pick and he didn't get drafted? All I'm trying to say is come December, this is gonna be a lot different, and come next June, it will be even more altered.

••Top 5 Returning College Basketball Players••
.
1. Kyle Guy, Virginia: Last season Guy showed he can be effective anywhere on the court, shooting 39% from 3 along with his knack for slashing and getting to the free throw line. Also showing his worth as primary ball handler, Guy only turned over the ball once every 10 possessions up the floor.
2. Ethan Happ, Wisconsin: Pulling out of the 2018 Draft, Happ will attempt to make up for a disappointing season for the Badgers, a team in which Happ led the squad in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals.
3. Carsen Edwards, Purdue: Edwards should have a big season, being one out of only two returning first team all conference players (the other one being Happ). Last season, Edwards put up 18 points a game, shooting 41% from 3. His usage should increase noticeably as a strong core of experienced players has moved on from the Boilermakers the previous year.
4. Rui Hachimura, Gonzaga: One of the most talented pro prospects to ever play for Mark Few and the Zags, Hachimura will been a very intriguing player this year. He’s already getting started, being the best player on the court in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers against an Australian team with NBA players like Dellavedova and Thon Maker.
5. Luke Maye, North Carolina: Following his breakout season last year, Maye will be one of top big men in college basketball for the 2018-19 season. Expect Maye to average a double-double for the second season in a row.

Time to talk Big Ten. Here are my predictions for the Big Ten Conference. The conference as a whole sort of went down hill a bit last year. Only 4 teams made the tournament. This year I think that there is more talent in the conference. Michigan State will cruise, led by Nick Ward and Cassius Winston. I think Maryland and Michigan will be in a tight race for second, but I see Maryland coming out on top. Maryland is a sleeper team with a lot of great upperclassmen, and good incoming freshmen. Michigan lost Mo Wagner, but they'll still be contenders. Purdue will finish 4th, led by Carsen Edwards, while Indiana comes in 5th. A lot of people are sleeping on Nebraska, but I see them as a tourney team this year. Wisconsin and Penn State might make the big dance if some shots go their way. Iowa has a lot of solid guys, and they have a shot at making the tournament. Ohio State will struggle after losing Keita Bates-Diop. Illinois has a few pretty interesting players, but their depth concerns me. Minnesota, Northwestern, and Rutgers will be the doormats of the Big Ten. -------
Awards Analysis: John Beilein is an easy pick for Coach of the Year. He's a spectacular coach. Freshman of the year will be Romeo Langford. He's such a dynamic scorer. If you want a sleeper pick, look out for Ayo Dosunmu. He's got some Kyrie Irving in his game. D'Mitrick Trice will be the Sixth Man of the year. Penn State Big Man Mike Watkins will be the best defender in the Big Ten. Finally, the player of the year will be Carsen Edwards. He was amazing last year, and now he's back. He will contend for National Player if the Year. -------

Here are my preseason All Americans!

Reid Travis plays for Kentucky (My bad)

Top 10 POY candidates for 2019 - Part 1/3
----------------------------------------------------
1. LUKE MAYE
F NORTH CAROLINA

Luke Maye returns to the Tar Heels after averaging 16.9 PPG 10.1 RPG and 2.4 APG last season, leading North Carolina to a number 2 seed. Maye is also a deadly shooter making 50 of his 116 attempts or 43.1%. Stats and a great team is what you need for the award, and he has both.
----------------------------------------------------
2. RJ BARRETT
G DUKE

RJ Barrett, this year’s consensus #1 prospect will be playing for Duke this winter.  Barrett is 6’7’’ and 200 lb, and Duke will lose all 5 of their starters due to graduation, and the NBA.  I expect Barrett to become Duke’s leading man, and contend for many premier awards.
----------------------------------------------------
3. REID TRAVIS
F UNDECIDED

Reid Travis decided to transfer from Stanford on May 30th, and will almost certainly play at Kentucky or Villanova. Travis averaged 19.5 PPG and 8.7 RPG, but did not contend for any major awards for the same reason as Ethan Happ, his team finished with less than 20 wins. With a better supporting cast on his new team, Travis should be a frontrunner for the award.
----------------------------------------------------
4. CARSEN EDWARDS
G PURDUE

Last Year, Carsen Edwards went from a solid player on a good team, to a great player on a great team.  Carsen averaged 18.5 PPG 3.8 RPG and 2.8 APG, and there is little question that he will put big numbers.  The real question is whether Purdue, a team that lost 4 starters, will be good enough for him to win the award.  If Purdue can be a consistent top 25 team, he should be in the mix.
----------------------------------------------------
5. DEAN WADE
F KANSAS STATE

Kansas State should be one of the most improved teams in the country with many key returns including Dean Wade.  Wade will enter his senior year, and shot 44.0% from deep while putting up 16.2 PPG and 62 RPG. If Kansas State is as good as advertised, Wade will be one of the frontrunners for the award.
