CARDIO... some people love it, some hate it and some like myself are a little indifferent to it 🤷🏽♀️ but.. on days when you’re body is a little sore or you really don’t feel like picking up those weights, there’s no denying that some cardio can still give you your #fitnessfix
If you’re not a natural lover of cardio though, how do you drag yourself to do it? Let’s face it, in a gym the ‘cardio zone’ can be soul destroying 💀 seeing people slog it out going no-where on machines for what seems an eternity, isn’t exactly inspirational 😳
So my first tip is...... If you can, get outside. I love running, but not on treadmills! Nothing beats pounding the pavements of the great outdoors. The colder the weather the better too 🌨
If that’s not an option and you’re a slave to the gym, then pick a piece of equipment that you’re either not familiar with or one you don’t usually use.
I got on the upright 🚲 this morning (haven’t done so for bloom’n ages)! And because it was something different for my body, it immediately became more interesting 😀
Next you MUST set some sort of goal or programme. DON’T just plod on aimlessly, try to challenge yourself.
I picked a level this morning that was challenging but not ridiculous, and worked for 1km at above 80rpm (this was the rest phase) and 1km at above 100rpm (working phase) until I’d cycled 15km and 30 mins had passed 🙌🏽
If I’d chosen to just cycle aimlessly for 30 mins, I tell you now I’d have stopped at 20!
You can do any program you like, but play with intensity and time/distance to keep things fresh ✨
And TOP TIP if your ass always slips off the seat of the gym bike, then sit on a towel to add some friction 😏
And finally go find yourself a mirror that’s not a true reflection and makes you look slimmer than you are 👈🏼 😆
