This happened last night. A Thanksgiving Ceremony on the @cancervive_ride.
It was a beautiful moment of reflection and taking time to look with in and let go of anything that's been weighing heavy on us and arm ourselves with the armour we need for the future that follows after this ride. It was truly, a significant moment for me.
As this ride started 9 days ago, I closed a toxic old chapter in my life and made a new pact with myself. I feel so brand new.
We see what we see, it has meaning for us. That N* was the last to burn, it was where I put my letter to self. And it was the starting letter of the chapter I was writing about. And it was my cue to start singing ... it burnt the longest, strongest, it wouldn't go down until someone beat it.
For our Cancer Survivors this moment just took on so much more meaning just being surrounded by these beautiful brave souls!
It was only an honour and therapy for me to be the voice to sing Angel by Sarah McLachlan as that cancer burns! This moment in this entire journey really filled my tank... after 20 shows 7 towns later. ... Tailed by a soul to soul conversation with @adeledup55 one of the founders and the stellar chief whip of this initiative! I made a new friend. A soul sister! I feel so aligned.
This idea came from an installation in the dessert for Afrika Burn... Adele shared with me last night, and today on our 20th show... our last one on the ride, I just scored myself a gig for the Khalahari Dessert Festival, as the festival director was in the audience. He says he's been looking for his lead act for 3 months now. "I am exactly where I am suppose to be in life right now!" Thank you CANCERVIVE for a glorious journey!
