Finished my #newnordicmittens. I was absolutely desperate for a new handknit pair after losing older pairs over the years to wear and public transit. The pattern is by Ram Wools and not on #ravelry, to find it google "ram wools new Nordic mittens."

Spent this gorgeous first day of summer helping out with sheep shearing at #chassagnefarm. These are the rams being herded into the shearing shed. What a fun day we had! #shetlandsheep #canadianwool #localwool

Back from Newfoundland with a bagful of Briggs & Little. @briggslittle, it was sort of inevitable: no knitter could have resisted the selection in Rocky Harbour. #briggsandlittle #briggsandlittleheritagewool #yarntourism #canadianwool

If you've wondered why the Maple Leaf Forever yarn can take 1-2 weeks to process, it's because this wool takes dye very differently. In order to get a bright red, it has to be dyed multiple times, this was the 3rd dye bath. And while the white sections aren't dyed, they need to be washed and dried so the yarn can bloom and be the same gauge as the red. If you knit with the red yarn and then the white yarn right off the cone, it'd be like knitting with fingering and lace yarn together! **** Don't forget the giveaway of the Canada Deh sock pattern runs until tonight. Go find the post with the sock!
