It’s Thankful Thursday y’all! Many people don’t know this about me, but I am a farmer. I am not a farmer’s wife. I am not a farm wife. I am a farmer. I was born and raised for the first decade of my life on a farm only to return to one many years later when God called me home.
I am thankful beyond thankful that we can raise our little boy on this farm. It is a life that unless you have experienced, could never understand.
Farming means trusting God for a harvest. It means constantly cancelling plans because of the weather. It means long nights, and early mornings and pulling double duty at home in seeding and harvest.
Farming requires the truest test of faith I think a person can endure. Things are not always perfect. We have floods, droughts and disease. We are at the mercy of the markets and the climate. But I would never trade this life for anything.
A wise man once said, you need a doctor every so often, a lawyer from time to time; but you need a farmer 3 times a day, every day.
I am honored that “Farmer” is not only on my resume, but also in my heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Life takes us unexpected places, Love brings us home” Thank you, Jesus for calling me back to my earthly home!
