#Schmoozy preview. #ThomasKneubühler, Electric #12 from the series Electric Mountains. Kneubühler is a Swiss artist based in Montréal whose work examines socio-political issues and the limits of representation. Electric Mountains captures the eerie nighttime illuminations of Quebec ski resorts, and tension between wilderness and technology. Kneubühler’s 2009 solo exhibition Trespass Act looked at security and surveillance in public spaces and invited the viewer to be a trespasser themselves, peering into nighttime office spaces. We are very excited to have this incredible work in our auction! #art#photography#ski#skihill#yegarts#canadianart#art#auction

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "There will come soft rains" Graphite on Stonehenge - sheet size 20" x 26"
Like crystals growing from the earth our buildings rise with stucture, beauty, and engineering that is truly magnificent which to me feels indestructible. It's hard to imagine that if cities were to lose their inhabitants it would take soft rains for them to crumble. In a few thousand years, the surface of the world would mostly look as it did before humanity came along—like a wilderness.
The second image is at Artusiasm last month hanging out by my drawing. The opening was a great success, lots of fun, and met some amazing people and talent.
