Back when I had #KING Magazine, the staff and I came up with this super section dedicated to men's fashion. It was a step above in product (high end money brands) and paper (we printed that section on higher quality glossy paper). It was positioned right in the middle of the magazine...maybe a bit toward the back.
In the surrounding pages we featured the most beautiful women of stage, screen and studio, yet this 10-page glossy focused on the men that other men respected. Be it for their style, talent or talk these gentlemen worked the looks. Lil Wayne, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Diddy, Jay-Z and so many more draped in their own or the latest and greatest threads graced the Tag: The King Collection section.
We used to call it "the inside cover" for those we pitched for inclusion (I have a funny #Camron convo regarding this very bugged out term haha). This particular shot is of the illustrious Nigo, the creator of @bape_japan. I actually did the interview for this piece. It was through a translator (even though I should be fluent in Japanese after living there for 3 years...ugh). He was mega cool and accomodating, opening up his home in Japan for all the shots and even wore a suit for us which was noted that he hardly did. I remember this shoot being a highlight at the time. We saw someone pushing bounderies, got with them and made some magic happen. Shout to the Royal Court staff of #KINGMagazine
Just going down memory lane as I saw this pic on my bro @KareeemBlair page. Thanks for posting fam. You took me back to some goods times real quick. #TBT
