Bubble waffles, anyone?
Just a short walk up Camden High Street from Camden Town Station, and you reach the oldest of Camden's numerous street markets.
Established around 1900, Inverness Street Market started up as a small food market serving the local community.
Until the middle of the 20th century, Camden Town was cosidered a rather "unfashionable" district. But in 1973 the Camden Markets startet up, and growing ever since they now attract a large number of visitors all week through.
While Iverness Street now is best known for its continetal-style bars and restaurants, as well as a number of specialist shops. By 2013 almost all foodstuff and produce stalls had gone from the street, many being replaced by stalls selling cheap clothing and souvenirs.
And then there is the stall specialized in a variety of enticing bubble waffels. Like the one in the above picture, filled with summer berries: Raspberries, blueberries ans sliced strawberries, as well as nutella and whipped cream. There are eight varieties to choose between, and it's also possible to choose your own favourite topping, for the same price: £5.50 for a moment of bliss...
