When's the last time you spent an hour, a day or a week only focused on YOUR needs?
As a business owner, daughter, sister, friend, wife, and dog mom, I'm often in the role of problem solver and caretaker. I love helping others feel better and move forward, but it's easy to give too much away. Everyone else's needs can scream so loud that I forget my own. That's why it's so important for me to RETREAT a few times a year: to carve out intentional time for giving nothing and receiving everything. No cooking, cleaning, counseling, emailing, commenting or scrolling. Just sitting back to enjoy decadent 3 course meals, deep tissue massages and essential oil yoga classes with friends.
Sounds selfish, right? In fact, it's a necessary practice for anyone who wants to do good in the world. I can't fill others from an empty cup, and I can't access vitality when my stores are dry. I can give more freely when my needs are met (and I feel damn good, too!). So ladies, I challenge you to find an hour, a day or a week to put yourself first. Tell me in the comments: what will you commit to? The person inside you will thank you.
Props to @sarahpascualyoga for leading by example!
