The view of Angkor Wat - Built in the early 12th century, this temple complex in Cambodia is the largest religious monument in the world, on a site measuring 162.6 hectares. Buddhist monks still reside in this temple 😊

One of my favorite parts of Siem Reap are the monks (see @ashleywawro to see what I mean). These young boys volunteer a few months or years of their life, and may later choose to be a monk full time. It could be so easy to criticize but after deviated 18 months of my life to something I believed in I feel like I can’t judge that kind of dedication as negative. The monks will talk to you if given the chance and are certainly kind. I think this kind of mutual respect will always make our world a better place ❤️
Reminds me of Indiana and the temple of doom. I keep ducking walking under them just in case they spit out any fiery arrows or poisonous darts.
June 06 ‘17 #WhenInCambodia 🇰🇭 Day 2! First day was just a travel from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Pehn. This day started from travelling via sleeper bus to Siem Reap, temple run, and exploring the streets of Siem Reap at night.
I’ve named him Aboo even though he’s in Cambodia. He has twelve brothers and sisters though so let me know your name ideas.
