Sometimes we forget to stop and notice little details, little accomplishments. For some of you that don't know my story, i started making jewelry at 7 years old using old fishing wire. I continued my whole life making jewelry as a hobby. In high school i got lost in the chaos of expectations, get good grades, be an honors student, apply for colleges, work a full time job, get paid minimum wage for years 'you have to work your way up'. What do you want to be? People don't really tell you that you can make your own path and do what makes you happy for a living. Maybe they don't know. But if your willing to work hard enough you can do whatever you want in life. I'm a self taught jeweler who never went to a fancy art school and i'm considered a 'crafter'. But i've put all i've got into this business and i'm damn proud of it. I get caught in the swirls of stress and anxiety still because i'll never know all the ropes and i am a one woman show. But today i stopped and looked at what i was creating and noticed my growth, my skills have come so far, not just from 7 years old but from 2 years ago. This little stone is hard to pick up with two fingers and i can still manage a clean wire wrap job. I'll never stop growing and i don't want to.
