Green Beans, Garlic Rice and Grilled Liver w/ caramelized leeks, shallots and bacon crumbles is Sunday dinner. A flavorful marinade, fabulous pan gravy, lots of garlic, wine and plenty of grill marks made this liver and onion a winner. Rectangle plates and rosemary compound butter also helped. The family is usually not a huge fan but today they loved it!
Not really a #forgotten food but I'd almost forgotten what it tastes like. My husband detests calves' liver and I rarely cook it, so it was a treat to find it, perfectly cooked, on the menu @thecrownstokebynayland. If it looks a bit ragged round the edges that's because I'd already started munching on it before taking a pic. I'm not much for deferred pleasures. 😊 Altogether a lovely lunch yesterday with @theeatingtree and @mariadernikos, thanks, ladies. #igphotoproject_gfw#gfw_oct25
Certain dishes have been on our menu since the opening as we strongly believe they represent Veneto essentials! The Grilled Calf liver with green beans in a Marsala & shallot sauce is one of them. Enjoy! #MagnaeTasi 😋😋
AQUA BAR & GRILL – BLACKHEATH Starter: Mozzarella & Vine Tomato Salad Main: Calves Liver Dessert: Baileys Crème Brulee To celebrate my birthday this week a friend of mine arranged a meal at Aqua Bar & Grill which happens to be one of my favourite "local" restaurants. My mozzarella & vine tomato salad was the perfect way to start the meal as it was fairly light and left plenty of room for my main. The salad was slightly jazzed up with the addition of avocado and artichokes. I have previously alternated my choice of mains between the Kleftiko and Barbary Duck Breast (both of which I would highly recommend). BUT in essence of this blog and in an attempt to 'try something different on the menu' I had the Calves Liver, which I know would not be everyone's choice, but for me something I really enjoy on occasion. The liver was medium cook, and served with crispy pancetta and cabbage mash. Finally I cannot go to Aqua without having the Baileys Crème Brulee which combines two of my favourite things. The sugar topping snaps with the touch of the spoon, and always leaves me wanting more!
