The former means "God's love" & the latter can be translated to "muchness".
As we get older, making friends (not acquaintances) definitely requires more effort. And as an introvert, the inertia is real.
My concluding thoughts about this - "Love God, love people".
The command that the bible gives us in Deuteronomy to love God with all our mind, soul and strength (me-od) & later, to love our neighbour as ourselves. The breakdown of the words through the word study videos reminded me that the love for God and for people are "2 sides of the same coin" for if we love God with muchness and all of ourselves, loving others as He loves is a reflection of it and vice versa. And while His desire is to draw close to us, and we may draw close to Him (like how we'd put effort to draw close to people), His love is a love that expects no returns.
God, thank You for the reminder today. Friendships are not transactions and like how I cannot measure up to Your love ever, help me to learn each day and walk towards loving more and more like You love; and in that process of loving people, love You more. Also, in that process of loving You more each day as I walk with You, love people more. It sounds like tongue twister haha but this is the prayer of my heart today Lord.
