It's #nationalhandwritingday ! A day for me to pay homage to the greats who taught me everything I know so far:
To Mrs. Tyree, who taught us actual cursive and allowed us to use fancy eraseable pens.
To Srs. Mary, Margaret and Fedelma who would unapologetically display any examples of poor penmanship to the entire class as a cautionary tale to other lazy children who might seek to submit less-than-adecquate work. (Also, an answer was marked wrong of it was deemd too sloppy)
To my asian #tigermom and tiger grandma who thought the teachers were too leniant and made me do additional penmanship practice. You know, for fun.
This thank you speech may seem a bit satirical, but I assure you it is 100% heartfelt. I can only imagine what sort of slop I'd be scribbling without their push.
Also, #calligraphy and #handwriting are two different things. See examples A and B.
