What kind of milk do you buy?
I mainly use *unsweetened* vanilla almond or cashew milk to get a boost of calcium. I don't care to drink cow's milk because I'd rather eat my carbs than drink them and I don't advocate soy. This protein milk was on sale and I had a coupon so I bought a few. It's fortified with pea protein and while I would prefer 0g of sugar I can deal with 2g. I love the creaminess cashew milk adds to my whole food smoothie mix but I'm happy using unsweetened almond or cashew in our smoothies.
Also, FYI the Costco brand (Kirkland) of almond milk only has 2% of your calcium needs in a serving, not 35-45% commonly found in almond milk. They fooled me once but I'm not buying again. Be sure to read your labels, friends.
Did anyone else have a big glass of milk at meals growing up? With a giant bottle of Hershey's syrup to make chocolate milk?
