I have a theory about that the Hulk we saw in Thor Ragnarok trailer isn't Bruce Banner, he's Skaar (son of Bruce Banner). Here's why... In "World War Hulk" (2008), the hulk was banished from earth and sent to space in a spacecraft by Illuminati. In Avengers age of ultron (2015), the hulk was also in a spacecraft probably heading towards space. The comic book world war hulk continuies with hulk crash landing on the planet Sakaar. After he meets Caiera, they eventually get married. Caiera got pregnant but died in an explosion caused by the spacecraft. Before she died two kids were born: Skaar and Hiro-kala. Hulk blames the illuminati for the death of his wife and leaves Sakaar in order to return to earth for revenge. I guess these events took place during Captain America Civil War (2016) since the avengers couldn't contact Bruce.
The comic book "Son of Hulk" (2009) shows Skaar's origin. Skaar was after that left orphan, but instead he was raised and trained by the creatures of Sakaar. When Galactus arrived at the planet, it was destroyed and left ashes. Skaar managed to escape before Galactus destroyed the planet. After that happened, Skaar was left with one option: to find a new home. This probably happened during Doctor Strange (2016) in the mcu.
And somehow, Skaar found Asguard and decided to start a new life. With that being said, I'd also like to show you some logical reasons for why hulk in Thor Ragnarok is Skaar and not Bruce.
1: The look. The armor Skaar wears in the comics is pretty similar to the one he wears in Ragnarok. In the comics, Skaar uses weapons, not very different from the ones that appear in Ragnarok. Also, his face looked different, which makes sense because it's not Bruce.
2: The rage. Hulk doesn't recognize Thor and starts to attack him. Bruce wouldn't try to kill thor for no reason, while Skaar doesn't even know thor. And if you think Bruce can't control himself when he's hulk, then you're wrong because we've seen him acconplish to control himself many times in the mcu.
3: Grandmaster didn't say "hulk". So what do you think? Do you agree or disagree?
