In that mostard colour building was born in 1599 Diego Velázquez da Silva whom together with Murillo, Goya, Picasso and Dalí conform the Repoker of universalis spanish painters.
Here is where Velazquez grow up while attended its fine arts clases with his mentor Pedro Pacheco. An incredible teacher who besides painting techniques maestry also introduced to the painter his own daughter and future wife.
Velazquez lived there until his first travel to Italy where he would receive the neccesary influences and knowledge to refine his expertise and move to Madrid. Once in the capital of the Spanish Empire, he became the personal painter of His Highness Felipe the Fourth.
During last 30 years his house was an atelier of famous spanish dress designers, now near bankrupt. These difficulties made them to leave the building which currently is passing through an uncertain future of proper conservation...
