Until we removed the wall separating the kitchen/dining/living areas I thought I wanted to do a row of skylights in the kitchen ($$$) to bring light in. Being an older style building, it is low 8ft ceilings and not much light, but now that we’ve lived with this space for a couple of months I’m glad we waited on the skylights. My motto is don’t change what you don’t have to. Moving the range 4ft across the room took an extra couple of days, which rolls into an extra couple of weeks for dry wall, painting etc. •

Having a window along your splashback not only means you get some added natural light in your kitchen, but also a lovely dose of vitamin D in the mornings to kick start your day!! How beautiful is this kitchen, with a simple shaker door and handless overheads, it’s subtle and sophisticated! #sunshineandcoffee#windowsplashback#prettykitchen
