It's foamy, creamy, & deliciously powerful – you can make it traditionally with dairy butter, MCT oil (energizer extracted from coconut oil), and coffee – fans swear by the drink’s benefits: Higher energy, focused mind, less hunger, satiated from breakfast until lunch, & inadvertent weight loss!
Here's also a vegan version — subbing the dairy & MCT oil w/ coconut butter. Coconut butter is full of heart-healthy fat + has the added bonus of being healthier as a plant-based ingredient, as well as cruelty-free!
It is creamy, filling, and tasting so deep and rich, like a rejuvenating coffee latte.
The history of "butter coffee”, or “bullet coffee” as it is also known, springs from a 2,500-year-old Tibetan black tea, brewed with salt and yak butter.
A few years ago, a modern version emerged and began to catch on under the title of “Butter Coffee”
INGREDIENTS: (for 1 medium mug☆)
1 cup high quality brewed coffee (Use GREEN coffee beans for added weight loss & energy!)
1 tbsp coconut butter for Vegans (Or make it traditionally w/ organic dairy butter)
1 tbsp plant milk optional add-ins:
—1 tsp MCT oil —1 tsp cinnamon—1 tsp vanilla powder —1 tsp coconut milk powder or plant milk—1 tbsp nut milk—1 tbsp raw honey
1. Brew your coffee w/ a french press or automatic coffee maker. Use a high quality green coffee bean for more energy & fat loss!
2. Put 1 cup of coffee in your blender. Add in 1 tbsp coconut butter (this is often solid, sometimes solid in two separate layers – the oil layer and the white creamy fat layer. I normally try to fill my tablespoon w/ about half of each layer.
3. Add in any optionals or not, and blend for a minute or so; be sure the coconut butter chunks are obliterated. It should be very foamy.
4. Pour in a medium sized mug. Top w/ foamed milk
