FIT FOOD LOVER RECIPE : Mediterranean Aragula Salad ​Now this is what I call a salad! .
It has everything that your little heart desires, from arugula to quinoa, and from chickpeas to fresh basil.

I came up with this simple Mediterranean dressing that has a base of lemon-flavored olive oil, which I found at a specialty oil and vinegar shop. If you aren’t able to come up with lemon-flavored olive oil then simply use olive oil and fresh lemon juice. It’s wonderfully refreshing. .
If this salad is your whole meal then feel free to top it with some chopped, roasted chicken breast. Some other options would be to use sun dried tomatoes and to add in chopped cucumber. Enjoy!

SERVES 8
Mediterranean Dressing
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
½ teaspoon Dried Oregano
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup lemon flavored olive oil (OR ¼ cup olive oil and 1 Tablespoon lemon juice)
Arugula Salad
8 cups Baby Arugula
1 cup cooked quinoa
1 can (15 oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 heirloom tomato, finely chopped
½ cup celery, minced
¼ cup fresh scallions, thinly sliced
¼ cup fresh basil, thinly sliced
DIRECTIONS
1 Combine the dressing ingredients in a jar. Close the lid and shake until fully combined.
2 Combine the salad ingredients in a large salad bowl. Toss with the dressing and serve immediately. Enjoy!

The struggle is real! 🥑🥑😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Didn’t want to go to the gym for so many reasons today but knew it would make me feel better. My head hurt. I had eaten nothing but crap. I had things I could do. But then I went to not one but TWO different classes and guess what? It made me feel better just like I knew it would 💃🏻 moral of the story? Sometimes the gym is easy, but sometimes you go because you know you need it and because it’s time to get the routine back

👋🏼It’s Monday sooo Let’s talk GOALS. Everyone’s got ‘em. Everyone’s got daily goals and long term goals, but let’s talk about SMART goals. SMART makes the goals specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.

🔰Specific: make your goal clearly defined and as specific as possible.
🔰Measurable: don't just say that you want to “look better”, instead say you want to reduce your body fat % by a certain amount.
🔰Attainable: make it a challenging goal BUT don’t make it extreme. Your goal could be to lose 20 pounds, but saying you want to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks is extreme. Instead say you want to lose 20 pounds in 4 months. It’s a challenge for you and something you will be able to reach which dedication without it being extreme!
🔰Realistic: this relates to attainable. Make your goal something you are both willing and able to work toward.
🔰Timely: try to keep your goal’s finished date in the near future. You should have goals that you’d like to accomplish tomorrow as well as 4 months from now! But having your main goal as a year from now, might be harder to accomplish as it’s seen as ‘so far away’ and ‘ah heck you’ve got plenty of time’.
.
Realistically SMART goals go hand in hand. Write them down. Find a way to hold yourself accountable. Take pics along the way, then compare pics every month or so. Stay off the scale, especially if you’re wanting to put on muscle‼️
.
And as always, You. Can. Do. It!!!! Trust the process and believe in yourself. The body is an extraordinary thing. Just watch what it can do 👀🤗.

Throughout the history of civilization, the medicinal properties of garlic have been prized, and it's been used to treat an array of ailments, including atherosclerosis, stroke, cancer, immune disorders, cerebral aging, arthritis, and cataract formation. . Garlic is a good source of vitamin B6 and also of vitamin C. As with most whole foods, garlic's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory abilities are probably due to the sum of the whole rather than a single agent. .
Garlic also may increase HDL ("good") cholesterol. Consuming one half to one clove of garlic daily lowers LDL cholesterol levels by approximately 10 percent, partially by decreasing cholesterol absorption. . Garlic extracts have also been shown to decrease blood pressure. In one study, a 5.5 percent decrease in systolic blood pressure and a slight decrease in diastolic pressure were noticed. While these are modest decreases, they could still lead to a significant lessening of the risk for stroke and heart attack. I don’t go to the gym because I HAVE to. I go to the gym because I know how much better my brain feels after I move a bit. It’s nice to be able to turn everything off for a bit and focus on the movements alone. I don’t go to the gym to punish myself or burn x amount of calories, I go because it’s good for my body and makes me feel better

Not going to lie, my allergies have never been so bad. My motivation, appetite, and desire to work out are currently nonexistent. I still make myself fuel my body as food is fuel 🙃 And today I pushed myself to go to the gym for upper body focused work.
