Sooooooo, every Sunday around 4-6p.m. I get the worst spell of jam-jams for the week. What the frick are jam-jams, you ask?
A feeling of panic you can't explain.
A nervously foggy brain.
The feeling your body has been taken over by a ridiculously stressed-out prairie dog.
.
In times like this, the easiest thing for me to remember to BREATHE. I've done some research on different techniques the past few years, and have a few of my favorites for the times the jam-jams hit the hardest. Here's just one of them. Hope it helps!

I could write novels on the buckets of gold I learn from watching this little girl.

One week, she's a chef,
The next day, a fashion designer,
After that, a cop, or even a park ranger, or interior decorator
.
And every new job, she jumps in with 1000% dedication. Fearless, full of ideas, and hella bossy. <444
.
Our ability to manifest what we want is still alive and well, and while it may take more patience than what my sister Gabby is willing to give, we too, can catapult ourselves into a mental space where ANYTHING is possible. So long as we're bold and patient and compassionate enough to try.

Don’t mind me, just taking some time outta my day job to drop some knowledge on ya!

We’re over halfway through 2018 (whaaat?) and all those resolutions we made to be healthier, happier versions of ourselves-
(maybe not laugh-with-our-salad happy, but close!)
-have fallen to the wayside.
.
I've delved into dumb and dangerous dieting myself when first started getting self-conscious of my body. Mountains of confusing information and crazy internet fads were all I had to sift through- and these methods just left me with giant crap bags of sickness, headaches, and copious amounts of HANGER.
.
But what if this big bag of crap did not have to become your reality? One reason we struggle with our progress/health is because we have no clue what type of food something is & how it can serve us. This means, that you likely have to eat MORE than what you’re eating now. (Yuh, ya heard me)
.
.
MORE balanced meals,
MORE vegetables,
MORE lean protein,
MORE water,
MORE nutrient-dense carbs
.
.
Not less. And I believe that, outside of calorie counting, the power for change is in your hands! (Literally)
.
A balanced plate of food will be stocked with the following:
.
*Two palm-size portions of lean protein (chicken, tuna, turkey, lean beef, eggs, tofu)
Two fists of vegetables (there’s a *GAJILLION ways to cook Mama Nature’s green goodness, so if you’re the kind that can’t stand them, I promise there are ways!)
*Two cupped hands of carbs (brown rice, potatoes, wheat bread, wheat pasta, quinoa, black beans, chickpeas, fruit, etc.)
*Two thumbs worth of fat-dense foods: (nuts, avocado, cheese, oils, etc)
.
A VERY basic outline of how to thrive a bit more in your life? Yes, but we all start somewhere right? These plates there will be enough to keep you full, and energetic and gradually closer to where you wanna be. And after all, beginning of journey is always the most exciting part.

We spend so much time wishing away our fears. We want to be brave, we want to be the best, we want to be unstoppable- right. Now.
.
I used to pray of becoming fearless. If you're like me, then you get paralyzed by your own jitters often in the following ways:
.
Your palms will be sweaty,
.
You'll hurl your mom's spaghetti, you know how that goes.
.
But those quakey boots of yours can be used as FUEL. That nervous feeling we get before we leap into something risky is all the compass we have to know our lives are about to change. Possibly for the better.
.
We NEED fear because it serves as the true north to finding our bigger selves. We can use it to thrust us FORWARD.
.
So the next time you get the jitters, consider for a moment not running away, but running towards those nerves.
.
When there seems to be nothing calming the galaxy of pop-rocks sizzling in your belly- that's when you move.
.
