I had a strong dislike for eggplant anything all through my childhood and even as an adult. Clearly outgrown it now :)
The eggplant 🍆 bush is the most reliable one in my garden, never failing to give us fruit by the dozen. Remembering the early days of my kitchen garden, when I would joke to my dad (bless his soul) that if he comes to my house- the menu will be Brinjal curry, brinjal sambar, brinjal Chutney, brinjal rasam and brinjal thokku with thayir sadham. And he would say this is a sneaky way to say "don't come home". When a parent passes away, even a funny memory associated with them brings tears to your eyes. Miss you, Appa!

The name “carrot” comes from the Greek word “karoton.” And the Hindi name of "Brinjal" in India is "Baingan", and many SE Asian countries call it the same.
