Nothing beats an oncology appt... OK... Everything beats an oncology appt!
Left with a little light reading today for the new medication I am starting. The Exemestane is replacing the tamoxifen, I've been fine on the tamoxifen but this drug has a slightly higher % at stopping recurrence so sign me up now! The other is a bisphosphate to help with strengthening the bones but also to help stop recurrence. So that's 4 medications! Fingers crossed they all do their job!
I am having a base line bone density scan done too to see how my bones are as I already have thinning of the bones and going through the menopause can also affect the bones.
The good news was my heart scan was fine so I am signed off ready for Herceptin number 6 on Tuesday, that will be after my breast surgery appt in the morning to discuss my reconstruction surgery. That's 5 appointments in less than a week! Good job I don't feel anxious and sick everytime I walk through the hospital doors... Oh wait a minute... I do!! I'm going to try some red clover extract as apparently they can help with the hot flushes! Believe me there are worst things in the world but they really are very annoying!! Sleep is hard at the moment, between hot flushes and my mind being constantly switched on its impossible to sleep!
I'm defintely having an after cancer lull at the moment. I just can't seem to shake it off. I want to, so badly, but it's just not that easy!
I'm enjoying doing my few hours work from home, it's just so hard to fit everything in around my hospital visits at the moment but it's nice to have a little bit of familiar 'normal' time!
Holidays are calling though, I can see it on the horizon, so I'm going to concentrate on that and hope that perks me up!
