My first battle was set up by the oldheads who hustled on the corner while we played in the street.
There were no organizers, no judges. To win, you had to take your respect by beating the best that that block had to offer, and that didn't always mean a 1v1, or dancing.
Growing in this environment made it fundamental to learn to make your prescence felt from the moment you began to move.
That's why I move different. I had to build myself to be different.
The competitive settings of today make it easy for cats. You can see that with the popularity of the formulated approach. There's no soul. No belief in what is being presented. No identity.
Battles are games of war, and your style is your weapon, your Martial Art. Respect it as such and take time to reflect inward to refine what you produce outward.
And above all else: Be Ready, Every Day. #BRED2BURN
