Bach artist Bryan K. Appleby-Wineberg took time to perform and share a little about his history with Bach instruments during his recent visit to the Bach factory in Elkhart, Indiana for the Bach Artist Select Program. Dr. Appleby-Wineberg was here to test trumpets that are to be hand selected and sold at Coles Music Service in New Jersey.
Dr. Bryan Appleby-Wineberg is Associate Professor of trumpet and head of brass at Rowan University Music Department along with being the Principal Trumpet of the Bay Atlantic Symphony, Principal Cornet/Assistant Conductor of the Atlantic Brass Band, and a founding member of the professional trumpet ensemble Tromba Mundi.
"Fanfare" heralds the opening of the first of the Met’s renovated musical instrument galleries! You can now explore the artistry, diverse forms and interwoven uses of brass instruments throughout time and place from the Museum’s collection. From the most simple conches and animal horns to the complicated design of modern trumpets, the newly opened “Fanfare” gallery chronicles the use of “brass” instruments to signal, express status, accompany rituals and make music. #TheMet#MetMusic#BrassInstruments#Conch#MusicalInstruments
