Today marks the start of British Beef Week, which runs from now until the 1st May. The high quality beef you see on in our Butchery counters is from Llanrwst, situated on the River Conwy which flows into the Conwy estuary. The lush pasture land makes an ideal setting for raising top quality beef. All livestock is procured within 40 miles of Llanwrst from dedicated farms and local livestock auctions, giving our meat full traceability back to the farm it came from.
In case you were wondering how long we have been specialising in Ngau Lam Mian, here's the story.
Back in 2010, upon returning to Singapore after years living in a very 'white' city with barely any Asian influence, Chef fell in love with a Halal Ngau Lam Mian stall in Toa Payoh. She became obsessed with it and decided to learn to cook it when the stall unfortunately shut down without a trace 😣
Over the course of the last 7 or so years, this obsession with perfection evolved as she moved on from cooking for family and friends to cooking for customers in a commercial setting.
Today, we at Da Hai Shan pride ourselves in being one of the leading (only few) places to offer authentic Ngau Lam Mian that blows away even the most Cantonese of customers.
