A few weeks ago I taught this sequence focusing on the chakras and few people asked me to share the sequence so here it is!
.
Hold each pose for 3-5 mins, focus on each energy centre, associated colour and mantras/themes that are relevant to you. Use props (blocks/bolster/pillow/blankets) accordingly.
.
1. Muladhara/Root chakra
Location: Base of spine
Themes: Survival, instincts, material needs, grounding
Colour: Red
Pose: Child's Pose
Mantras: I am, I am here, I am present
.
2. Swadhisthana/Sacral chakra 
Location: Below the navel
Themes: Creative expression, sensuality, sexuality, feelings, desires
Colour: Orange
Pose: Frog Pose
Mantras: I desire, I create, I feel
.
3. Manipura/Solar Plexus
Location: Between navel and ribcage
Themes: Willpower, identity, self-esteem
Colour: Yelllow
Pose: Lying face down w/ block or bolster under belly
Mantras: I will, I do, I can
.
4. Anahata/Heart chakra
Location: Centre of chest
Themes: Love, compassion, empathy, self-love, unconditional love
Colour: Green
Pose: Anahatasana/Heart Melting Pose or Sphinx/Seal
Mantras: I love
.
5. Vishuddha/Throat chakra
Location: Throat
Themes: Communication, truth, speaking, hearing
Colour: Blue
Pose: Supported fish (propr under shoulderblades)
Mantras: I speak, I listen
.
6. Ajna/Third Eye
Location: Centre of forehead just above eyebrows
Themes: Intuition, seeing the truth, inner wisdom
Colour: Indigo
Pose: Nadi Shodhana with 2nd and 3rd finger on third eye or Butterfly pose with third eye resting on body/prop/fists
Mantras: I see, I know

7. Sahasrara/Crown chakra
Location: Crown of head 
Themes: Spirituality, inspiration, connection to divine
Colour: Violet
Pose: Savasana or Meditation
Mantras: I understand, I am connected, We are one
.
Finish in a seated position and imagine drawing down a column of white light through the crown, cleansing each chakra and exiting through the base of the spine. Then visualise being bathed completely in this white light until it begins to engulf you completely and spills out to your surroundings.

Crow pose, next stop handstand!!!!!!!! I've always wondered why it's so much harder on the hand to do a handstand when I can do easily support my weight here. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Any advice is MOST welcome ❤️❤️🤗❤️❤️
I use this to prepare for my headstand as a warm up. Before you invert at LEAST 3 time come to gentle inversions and out again to get the blood vessels in the face and eyes used to the pressure. Don't freak your body out! 👌👌🌹🌷🌹✌️

Grab a guy friend to join our classes in Stratford, they practice for free! This Tuesday 21st at Centennial Restrooms Stratford and Sunday 26th at Pilates South Taranaki.

Classes are beginner friendly,
You don't need to be flexible to practice. Although practice will create a stronger, more flexible body and mind.
