Thanksgiving is a holiday we all share in America that has a great deal of different meanings to each individual. Whether it's a special time to finally plant your ass on the couch so that you can watch your favorite football team compete for last place all day or to celebrate being a complete fat slob without being judged for shoveling that ninth pumpkin pie slice down your gullet or perhaps to you it may even be just a special occasion to ruin familial relationships at the dinner table over personal politics. All differences aside, we can all agree - we are giving thanks. If you're on this page, you're probably thankful for beer and you know...family and stuff. This year I'm especially thankful for all of the great brews that have found their way to my fridge and having my girlfriends/social media team around to assist in making the Beerble posts happen. This year I've decided to bless the table with something especially important to me, as it came from an out of town spiritual experience (and a trip to Total Wine and More). Joseph James Brewing is a company that I had yet to see in the bay area and upon traveling to Las Vegas I went for a banger from the local company. I came up with their Ninth Anniversary sour red. This acidic monster of a sour was perfectly tart for a Thanksgiving dinner pairing, with an incredibly sweet finish of various berry flavor focusing on boysenberry. The vanilla notes, with a wonderful splash of bourbon, flow into dessert time giving it a great all around tone for the favorite holiday of the fatass. My fellow lards, bask in the glory of such a brew while having a happy and safe Thanksgiving! Make sure you need to go up a belt size by the last bite of gravy drenched turkey, as I plan on going for two.
