this year, i’ve made one resolution: to love my life.
this means taking better care of myself, being a person and not a machine, spending more time with my amazing husband (15 year anniversary was in september!), reinventing our house (or moving), trying to make a sincere difference in causes i care about, working on projects i can love even in their most challenging phases, focusing on my friendships that are healthy and enjoyable and mutual, making better use of my sketchbook, collaborating with partners who value me and my ideas, not overscheduling, spending more time outside, sleeping regularly, reading regularly, feeling empowered by my life choices, facetime with faraway friends, learning new skills, being creative just for fun, and seeing the world. and, you know, making steps to save the world, too.
this resolution started with the purchase of two plane tickets. a little over a year ago, my pins traveled to a shop in tokyo for a pop-up — somewhere i’ve ALWAYS wanted to visit. why my products, but not me and my lifelong dream? so now i’m using duolingo to learn japan’s THREE language systems for my first visit to tokyo ever this year. (tips welcome, from those who have been)
i’ve always struggled with work-life balance but maybe this year is the year i love it all, including the balancing act itself. (photo by @tegamisha — where i’ll certainly be visiting when i make it to tokyo! from the pop up with @landpdx / @buyoly)
