"Friends are the family you get to choose", my soul sister @lingeriebyday reminded me, and thank goodness for that. Some of best friends I have now I've met through... you've guess it, lingerie.
When things are going okay, it's fine, game face on and the days fly by. When things aren't so good, you really want all the support you can get.
I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, when I told my family I was diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depression, they said it's not a thing, and told me to just 'get over it'
They continually come up with new and creative ways to tell me I'm not good enough, I've achieved nothing, and I'm a disgrace.
After spending extended time with them, your fighting mechanism becomes dull, You stop kicking and waving your arms about, and just let this dark foggy stuff consume you, as you get stuck in an anxiety loop.
And what does that look like on the outside? For me, it's been days of being curled up in a ball, burping up stomach acid, and shaking uncontrollably.
Thank you Liz, for cuddles when I was bawling my eyes out, for eating cheese and making penguin sounds with me. I hope you realise how much of a difference you've made in my teeny-tiny world.
