Day 23 of the #beachphotochallenge is tiny! I couldn't exactly pick out with one of my pieces was my favorite tiny piece, so I decided to just dive right in and balance as many tiny cobalts on my hand as possible before I went absolutely insane!
It is amazing how beautiful glazes can be. When I first learned about pottery I was sad I couldn't fire soda, salt or wood. Eventually I started to realize that with a lot of testing and creativity I could get tones similar to those firing atmospheres I wanted. This photo is a part of that hope. The variety of surfaces and colors from a cone 6 firing in electric can be just as exciting as any other firing. It just takes a lot more effort to achieve. The future of my pots is revealed with this single photo. It is the beginning of my journey to search for beautiful natural random tones by overlapping glazes and application techniques.
