Activistas de todo el mundo organizaron una serie de protestas contra el festival coreano #Boknal, en el que se come carne de perro y gato.
@Regrann from @heavendogz - It's time for us to put away our computers and GET OUT to make our stand visible against the #DogMeatTrade!
Unique only to #SouthKorea, #DogMeat farming is a professional business. There are an estimated 17,000 farms, with an annual consumption of 2.5 million dogs. These farms, whether large or small, are unregulated, which means the farmers can and do inject these dogs with all kinds of medications and give them rotten food wastes. They spend their short lives (about 18 months or so) locked in metal cages, where they are never let out, walking on the metal grates, so that their feet literally never touch the ground their entire lives. The transportation process to the slaughterhouses is extremely cruel as well, where they are stuffed into cages so tightly that they get broken bones and are often crushed and suffocated to death. They are not given any food or water for days. Slaughtering is brutal and barbaric, and it is often inefficient, such that the relief of death does not come quickly... The summer season is when the dogs of Korea will be slaughtered the most, as some ignorant myth-believing Koreans will seek to fortify and cool their bodies by consuming #DogMeatSoup, #Boshintang, #보신탕.
The #Boknal #복날, as it is called, or the dog days of summer, in #Korea will be July 12, 22 and August 11 this year. ✔PLEASE...., plan to speak out and take a visible stand to condemn this barbaric practice by protesting publicly at your #StateCapitol, #KoreanConsulate or anywhere you think would be appropriate. Global International Pressure will be felt and will be a voice for the voiceless dogs of #SKorea... Thank you.
