We've been playing tourist in our own town the last few days. We climbed the Flèche St. Michel, or bell tower of Saint-Michel. Built over 20 years from 1472 - 1492, it's nearly a miracle it's even still here to climb! It was struck by lightning in 1574, nearly demolished by Louis XIV in 1675 and the spire was swept away in a powerful storm in 1768. Luckily, it was restored almost a century later and we can climb it for this beautiful view over Bordeaux and the Garonne. Can you spot all the people splashing around in the Miroir d'Eau?
