Have you seen the intense as heck trailer of season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale yet? As mentioned above, it is intense. The show now goes beyond the original text written by Margaret Atwood, and June (No longer Offred?) finds herself on the run, in danger, in love, and pregnant. .
For the uninitiated, Atwood’s Dystopian novel from 1985 imagines a dark, painful patriarchal theocratic America where women are stripped of all rights and serve as walking wombs to help fix the ‘plague of infertility’. It’s the most hard hitting book I’ve read, and the TV show, starring the faultless Elisabeth Moss is just as brutal. April can’t be here soon enough, with more news from Gilead. #praisebe
