"In her debut poetry collection Every Watering Word, Tanya Manning-Yarde touches on topics of womanhood, sexuality, oppression, religion, and race. The poems are split into different themed sections and each sections has about 10 or so related poems. Overall, I enjoyed the majority of the collection. There were some that I really felt like I connected with strongly. I personally enjoyed the poems that were focused more so on race--my personal favorite was, 'The North Star, for all Women Warriors.' I went back to reread this one over and over again." _____
