Since so many of you asked, I thought I might write some of my thoughts about Daughter of Smoke and Bone. This post might contain some spoilers, so please if you haven't read it, don't read this caption because I don't want any of you to be spoiled.
So, here are my thoughts about it. I dove into the book without knowing what it was about, only that a fellow writer recommended it to me. At first, I honestly think it was very weird to read but once I understand the world and how things work, I began to enjoy it. I love how Karou was raised since birth by these chimaeras and she never complained how strange her life is compared to the other teenagers. And how Brimstone's door connects to every corner of the world kind of reminded me of the door from Howl's Moving Castle. And even though this book is sort of a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, I found the romance in this book a little bit too instant and rushed (but it sort of makes sense in the end). Speaking of the ending, I actually suspected Karou to be Madrigal from the beginning (I don't know about you, but it was kind of obvious). Overall, I loved it, I think it was a fantastic read and I can't wait to read Days of Blood and Starlight. Have you guys read Daughter of Smoke and Bone? What's your opinion on it?
