#HobbitWeek - favourite creature/magical species
Yep, I'm doing the unthinkable guys. Double-posting on Instagram. Cue the gasps and clutched pearls.
This photo from #MiddleEarthMarch which my sister helped me conceptualise was too good not to share again, do you not agree? It shows the Shire in all its green glory and warms my heart on this rainy Boston day.
As tempted as I was to write about dragons, and as much as I love the Elves and as much I'll always wear my Nenya with pride and fondness, I do love the hobbits and the Shire. I mean, how could I not? I'm 5'1" and can relate, though they would call me a giant who has drunk from the magical waters of the Ents a bit too often 😂
Apart from their love of nature, cheer, food, and all the simple comforts, I love the steel they all harbour within them, no matter how deep.
I love how Bilbo, and the rest that follow, are such unlikely heroes and are unsure of what they are capable of; yet rise to unimaginable heights despite their doubts and fears.
As the Warden in Gondor's Houses of Healing noted, "They are a remarkable race. Very tough in the fibre, I deem."
Not to forget that each of Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin are individually crucial in the War for Middle Earth.
"My friends. You bow to no one."
