Amid the chaos of the Old West End festival, I found these girls sitting with headphones in, reading a stack of comics. As a librarian, I’ve always lived by the rule that you bring a book everywhere in case you get bored. These girls were kindred spirits. Shot in the Old West End with #rolleiflex
#wellreadblackgirl Wednesday is here and I am currently infatuated with @morganapple0 black, righteous feminist manifesto is everything I am starving for. The words she crafts together are me on every single page. ___________________________ with such lines like "when I drink out of a martini glass I feel untouched by professional and sexual rejection." (Another another Autumn in New York). If you didn't know what type of ride she was taking you on with the cover art alone 👏🏾 the description artfully written on the leaf of the book pulls you. _________________________ @morganapple0 has artfully touched on black women and intersectionality in a real way that's accessible and poetic. I am here for all of it. _____________________ Who has read it? Who is gonna add it to your summer list? 🙋🏾
Book Review: One of the best historical romances ever written. Its so relatable yet unique.
