Ask and you shall receive: A short (but kinda long) story.
For years I’ve been looking for THE tattoo I wanted. Sure I have a crappy heart on my right shoulder from a homemade tattoo gun Dan Davis brought over to my house when I was 15. But that one doesn’t count. I wanted a tattoo that told a little snapshot of ME. Promising myself if I’d lose the extra 20 year old “baby weight” I’d get one. Here I am 40lbs lighter, it’s time.
One would think googling “jeweler saw tattoo” would bring up countless options to build off of. Nope. There looks to be one. ONE. Straight search for jeweler’s saw clip art, drawing, etc., leaves a lot to be desired.
Today, a day before my birthday, I was doing that same search via Google, finding the same limited results. Frustrated, I thought: well, when the time is right, you’ll find what you are looking for.
BAM. FFS. Ask and you shall receive. 30 minutes later, I’m moving a stack of stuff that’s been sitting on the stairs for... a very long time. In that stack is a copy of the jeweler’s bible: Jewelry Concepts And Technology by Oppi Untracht that a jeweler friend gave to me a few months back. I casually start flipping through it just to revel in the amazingness of this book (if you are a metalworker or jeweler, you know exactly what I’m talking about) and suddenly my eyes are filled with all of the tattoo inspiration I’ve spent months looking for. All right here, in one beautiful place. Exactly what I’ve been seeking. It was all sitting right on the stairs waiting to be found.
Now that one tattoo?? Well, it may turn into a few.
