In Acts this morning. I've said it a million times to someone who claims salvation but has nothing about their lives that would indicate it: "You say Jesus is your savior, but is He your Lord?" It's a valid question to ask when you're claiming Christ but your life doesn't show it. But this morning, I thought, it's a valid question to ask period. I love reading and remembering the gospel. It's the most beautiful truth in the world with the most profound implications and out workings in my life. But it's really easy to stop there and not reflect on how equally beautiful and profound God's steady work of sanctification is - the slow but sure handiwork of God on my soul to conform me to look like His son Jesus. Jesus is the goal, the standard, the measuring stick, the authority and the treasure. Jesus is Lord.
