"I realize the main problem with history. You can talk about. Analyze it. Dissect it. Study it. Put it in a museum. But you can never, ever, no matter how hard you try, relive it. By its very definition, it's over as soon as it happens.
Meanwhile, life moves on."
- The History of Jane Doe by Michael Belanger.
Again, I received the advance copy of this book from First To Read @penguinrandomhouse and I guess I'm lucky enough to read this lovely, heartbreaking YA book with such a quirky main character Ray, who loves history so much that the town he lives in, Burgerville, which to most people find it boring has its own appeal to him. His life change when Jane Doe moved in to town, a girl who loves folk music and conspiracy theories. There's so much about this book, love, friendship, mental ilness and someone's history. It's also funny, I enjoy every bit of it, Simon is definitely my favorite character of this book. Tbh, I didn't know what really happened (in a good way) until I reached half of the book, I was laughing at every Simon's sayings but then THAT happened. When I finished, I left feeling like I need to hug someone. What an heartwarming read!
